For much of modern business history, a research function was a luxury reserved for large corporations, universities, consulting firms and specialized research institutions.
Large companies could afford economists, market researchers, competitive intelligence teams, corporate strategy departments and libraries of specialized information. A small business owner generally could not.
That equation has changed.

The objective, however, is not simply to “do more research.”
